The unprecedented growth of internet usage has created a huge demand for database administrators as many websites now register and store client information. Responsibilities:
Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting a database management system (DBMS).
Development of database administration tools/utilities/operation procedures
Planning, developing, implementing and evaluating database application modules.
Devising backup and recovery strategy according to the availability and size of the database server.
Maintaining and implementing database standards.
Upgrading/migrating databases to current release levels.
Managing physical database resources.
Moving, rebuilding, or changing database objects as required in production.
Implementing and reviewing appropriate data security guidelines/mechanisms.
Ensuring appropriate users/authority policies.
Evaluating and testing new features/functionality.
Documenting migration procedures and test results.
Performing database maintenance functions.
Pay scale
Entry-level candidates:15,000 to 20,000 rupees two to three years experience:30,000 to 40,000 rupees Senior professional: 40,000 to 80,000 rupees
