Generally, companies with a workforce of over 100 employees and a sensitive business nature (financial and educational) institutions and public service organizations like hospitals require the services of a net work administrator. Computer networking professionals should be equipped with technical information in order to effectively control network traffic and continuously find ways to secure networks from all types of threats. It helps to have technical experience when it comes to working with networks. If the institute you’re studying in allows its students to intern at the computer labs , offer your knowledge and willingness to work. The responsibility and job description of professionals working in this industry often overlap. In small-scale organizations, a network administrator can end up performing the services of a network technician as well. Apart from these two, there are a few more designations-network engineer, network analyst and networks systems manager.
Responsibilities:
Analysis, installation and configuration of an organisation’s networks.
Monitoring network performance, troubleshooting and maintaining network security.
Managing network infrastructure, configuring routers, switches, firewalls and other network hardware.
Ensuring system updates, evaluating vendor products and security testing
Repairing specific hardware and software products.
Managing network applications such as mail transport agents, web servers, and network file system(NFS),Network information system(NFS) and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)daemons
Writing software programs or scripts for network analysis such as monitoring utilities.
Planning, strategy consideration and issuing network policies.
Pay scale
Entry- level candidates:15,000 to 18,000 rupees Two to three years experience: 25,000 to 35,000 rupees Senior professionals:35,000 to 50,000+ rupees

Database administrator

Database administrator
The unprecedented growth of internet usage has created a huge demand for database administrators as many websites now register and store client information. Moreover, organizations that maintain a record of their clients and manipulate the information efficiently, In short, database management and administration is crucial to any organization.
Responsibilities:
Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting a database management system (DBMS).
Development of database administration tools/utilities/operation procedures
Planning, developing, implementing and evaluating database application modules.
Devising backup and recovery strategy according to the availability and size of the database server.
Maintaining and implementing database standards.
Upgrading/migrating databases to current release levels.
Managing physical database resources.
Moving, rebuilding, or changing database objects as required in production.
Implementing and reviewing appropriate data security guidelines/mechanisms.
Ensuring appropriate users/authority policies.
Evaluating and testing new features/functionality.
Documenting migration procedures and test results.
